1. What is DOTS ?

DOTS is a prototype of Collaboration flow Management System (CfMS).

Collaboration flow Management is a new paradigm for virtual team support which aims at assisting the opportunistic flow of collaboration within a distributed project, considered as a living and self-organizing system.

Such a flow includes informal and formal, synchronous and asynchronous, task-oriented and project management-oriented collaborative sessions. The two main categories are synchronous virtual meetings (in yellow below) and asynchronous sessions driven by collaborative process model fragments (in blue below).

The distribution also includes a more than 100 pages technical document ( 700Ko) .

3. Platform and installation

DOTS is fully written in Java. It has been tested on Windows 2000 and Windows 98.

The distribution (open source) is available on http://sourceforge.net/projects/dots-cfms.
